JLS beat Robbie Williams to UK no 1 Album…

JLS’s success keeps rising and rising. The X Factor boyband have beaten Robbie Williams to UK number one album. The good news does not stop there either. Their album is the fastest-selling debut album (from a group) since the Arctic Monkeys’s ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ in 2006. Both JLS and Williams’s sold over 200K making them the fastest-selling albums of the year so far. JLS even surpassed (and trampled over) X Factor winner Alexandra Burke’s first week sales (she sold in the 130K margin). This no 1 is also their triple feat as their first two singles ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Everybody In Love’ topped the charts as well. On top of all of their accomplishments, the group also have a sold-out tour to add to their impressive resume.

JLS beat Robbie Williams to UK no 1 Album...

JLS told the Official Charts Company:

“It is absolutely unbelievable that we have reached the number one spot on the album chart this week after such an incredible race with the pop icon that is Robbie Williams. We are so overwhelmed by the support of the people that have purchased our album and can’t thank them enough for making our dreams come true. We truly have the best supporters in the world and can’t express our gratitude enough”.

Wow. Never in a million years did I think JLS would beat Robbie Williams in ANY chart battle. Robbie is like a UK legend here. If they can beat Robbie, they can beat ANYONE. Their success could not have happened to a nicer pair of lads. Congrats, and well done!
