Rihanna: ‘Rated R’ [Album Review]…

Rihanna is back with her new album ‘Rated R’ which is slated for a Nov 23rd release. On the project, Rihanna has teamed up with Justin Timberlake, Ne-yo, Will-i-am, The Dream & Tricky, Chase & Status and few others just to name the few. Check out my review below for ‘Rated R’:

Rihanna: Rated R [Album Review]...

Mad House: The intro prepares us for the dark adventure that lies ahead. It is pretty spooky with its horror movie-inspired organs and comes with a disclaimer that such a dark adventure is not for the faint hearted.

Wait Your Turn: Rihanna experiments with a little dubstep (Chase & Status). Her Island twang is thickly spread over the grimey midtempo like peanut butter on bread. You can tell she is strongly putting it on, and in parts, it all sounds a bit forced. The beat knocks hard, but in contrast to the other songs, this is no contendar. Rating: 3/5

Hard feat Young Jeezy: Rihanna masquerades herself as the bad chick with big attitude. In a semi rap flow, she defiantly tells us that she’s “tougher than a lion” and yet the “Rihanna reign just won’t let up”. The infectious track, consisting of ‘hard’ thumping basslines and heavy percussion is very fitting and her swag is ridiculous. Hot. Rating: 4/5
